 Vijaya Bank Debit Card

Vijaya Bank Debit Card is issued by our Bank to its account holders in association with VISA/RuPay.

Debit Card can be used at Merchant Establishments, for E-Commerce and also at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

Debit card can be used at all Vijaya Bank ATMs. It can also be used in all VISA/NFS network ATMs of any Bank in India and abroad. 

Eligibility Criteria

Debit card will be issued to all adult individuals, joint account holders & NRE account holders maintaining operative Savings Bank/Current accounts at our branches with satisfactory operations.

 Type of customers

Eligibility criteria

a) Individuals

All adult Individuals maintaining an operative Savings Bank account (including NRE accounts) or Current account with satisfactory operations with any one of our branches.

In case of current accounts in the name of proprietor ship concerns, the debit cards will be issued in the personal name of the proprietor.

b) Joint accounts

For joint accounts with operation by any one or survivors, debit card can be issued to any one or more or all the joint account holders who are authorized to operate the account individually.

Where the debit cards have to be issued for joint account holders, apart from the applicant’s signature the signature of the other joint account holders should be obtained on the debit card application.

 

The following category of accounts are not eligible for Debit Cards.

a.     Company, Co-operative society, Association, Corporation, Association of persons, trust, Hindu Undivided Family or other legal or natural entity or organization

b.    Cash Credit and other loan account holders.

c.     Accounts of illiterate persons / minors.

d.    Joint accounts where the operation condition is jointly or where minor is a joint account holder.

e.     Accounts operated by mandate holders and Power of Attorney holders.

f.     Accounts under Garnishee / attachment orders which are subject to mitigation/ dispute.

g.    Encumbered Accounts.

h.     In-Operative accounts.









 

 

Validity

Debit Card is valid for use at our Bank’s ATMs, other Bank’s VISA/NFS ATMs, merchant establishments in India and abroad and also for E-Commerce transactions. Debit card is not valid for payment in foreign exchange at merchant establishments in India, Nepal & Bhutan.

Vijaya Global Debit cum ATM card is valid up to the last working day of the month indicated on the card.



The validity of the card shall be five years from the last day of the month in which the card is issued.





Debit Card can be renewed on expiry of 5 years.

Debit card is allowed for usage in Internet for websites where Verified by VISA/RuPay Paysecure authentication is mandatory. The guidelines for using the debit card in internet is enclosed below:

Usage of Debit Card for E-Commerce Transactions

To activate Debit Card for online transactions, the card holder has to perform the following procedure:

Description

Registration of mobile number for E-Commerce transaction

  • Visit any of the Vijaya Bank ATMs and register his/her mobile phone number using the below option available on the ATM screen.

 

Other services -> Debitcard on internet

After entering the mobile phone number twice, the customer will get an acknowledgment slip as a proof of having completed the registration.

Note: Only Indian mobile numbers are valid for registration

 

While transacting for the first time

 

VISA Cards

Before first transaction, cardholder has to visit our website www.vijayabank.com, using link Card Services -> Verified by Visa for enrolment of debit card. After entering the debit card details, cardholder will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on his registered mobile no. System will prompt the cardholder to enter the OTP received on his registered mobile number. Cardholder has to choose a permanent password of his/her choice and the same has to be used for subsequent usages online.

If the password is forgotten/or to be changed, the customer need to choose the option forgot password.

RuPay Cards

Before first transaction, cardholder has to visit our website www.vijayabank.com, using link Card Services -> RuPay PaySecure for enrolment of debit card. After entering the debit card details, cardholder will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on his registered mobile no. System will prompt the cardholder to enter the OTP received on his registered mobile number. Cardholder has to choose a personal phrase and a personal image of his/her choice. The same has to be verified by the cardholder for subsequent usages online.

 

If the personal phrase or personal image is forgotten/or to be changed, the customer has to enrol themselves once again using link Card Services -> RuPay PaySecure.

Regular transactions

 

VISA Cards

During the transaction, system prompts for password from the cardholder. Card Holder has to enter the static password created by them followed by the OTP received instantly by way of SMS on their registered mobile number. Both the passwords need to be entered for the transaction to be successful.

 

RuPay Cards

During the transaction, system prompts the cardholder to enter the 4 digit ATM PIN. Card Holder has to select the personal image which was selected at the time of enrolment.  System will prompt for the 4 digit ATM PIN to be entered following which the transaction will be approved.

 

OTP not received / Delay in getting OTP

 

In case the cardholder  does not receive OTP SMS in his registered mobile no, he/she has the option generate an OTP by sending an SMS to any one of the following numbers 5676798 / +919212738927

Safety of your Vijaya Debit Card

 

Protect your Card

 

¨       Keep your debit card with you at all times and never leave it unattended. Treat the card just like you would keep cash, cheques etc and always protect it. No one should have the access to the card except you. Please notify immediately if it is lost/stolen

¨       Do not bend or scratch the card especially the magnetic stripe on the reverse of the card and do not expose it to electronic devices & gadgets or direct sunlight.

¨       Your Debit card is exclusively for your personal use. It should never be surrendered to any one, other than a designated bank officer at Vijaya Bank branch and that too only after cutting into several pieces.

¨       Sign the signature panel on the reverse of your Card as soon as you receive it. 

¨       Always ensure that the Debit card is used in your presence when transacting at merchant establishments. Also, ensure that the card is not swiped for more than once for one single transaction. Never sign an incomplete sales slip. If noticed, inform us immediately.

¨       Do not attempt to use your debit card at merchant outlets that do not have electronic card swiping machine.

 

Protect your PIN

 

¨       Please do not disclose your PIN to any body, the staff of the bank or to merchants and make sure that you never keep your ATM Card and PIN together.

¨       Please memorize your PIN and destroy the PIN Mailer.  Written record of the PIN should not be kept in any form, place or manner that may facilitate its use by the third party.

¨       Please use the PIN allotted to you when you visit the Vijaya Bank ATM for the first time.  You can then change the PIN to denote a number that is easy for you to remember.  However, please avoid the use of simple combinations like 2222 or 1234 et al.

¨       Please avoid using an ATM if you sense any abnormal/suspicious behaviour of person(s)/in circumstances near the ATM.

¨       Use your body to shield the ATM key board while entering the ATM PIN to ensure that no one can see you enter your PIN.

¨       Please enter your PIN carefully without mistake. Please note that in order to prevent fraudulent use, only 3 attempts to re-enter the PIN are provided. Thereafter, the card will be blocked for the day.

¨       There is a time out for response to any request in an ATM. So, please respond to the request displayed on the screen of ATM quickly.

 

Vijaya Bank will never ask any card holder to disclose the ATM PIN/OTP for any reasons
